2nd PAW er en lille frivilligforening, der driver en genbrugsbutik for hunde på Islands Brygge. Vi er 100 % non profit, det betyder at alle arbejder frivilligt og uden løn. Vi donerer alt overskud til gode formål for hunde. 2nd PAW is a small volunteer association that runs a second-hand shop for dogs in Islands Brygge. We are 100 % non-profit, which means everyone works voluntarily and unpaid. We donate all our profit to good causes for dogs.
Vi er et team på cirka 20 frivillige, hvoraf de fleste står i vores butik. Man skal kunne tage to vagter om måneden, for at være frivillig i butikken. We are a team of around 20 volunteers, most of whom work in our shop. To volunteer in the shop you need to be able to take two shifts a month.
Vi har en flad struktur, og de fleste beslutninger bliver taget på det månedlige møde, hvor alle frivillige kan deltage. Rent organisatorisk bliver ledelsen udgjort af bestyrelsen og tre koordinatorer. Bestyrelsen bliver valgt på den årlige generalforsamling og består af 3–5 frivillige. De tre koordinatorer står ikke i butikken, men er ansvarlige for hver deres område: SoMe, donationer, og vagtplanlægning og onboarding af nye frivillige. We have a flat structure, and most decisions are made at the monthly meeting, where all volunteers can take part. Organisationally, the leadership consists of the board and three coordinators. The board is elected at the annual general meeting and consists of 3–5 volunteers. The three coordinators do not work in the shop, but are each responsible for their own area: social media, donations, and shift planning and onboarding of new volunteers.

2nd PAW blev født ud af hundeskolen KøbenhavnerSnuden på Nørrebro. Her oplevede ejeren, Regitze Acacie, hvordan især hvalpeejere gav hende brugte seler og andet, for at hun kunne give det videre til andre hundeejere. Hvad hvis nu man satte det i system, og lavede en butik? Lucif havde netop afsluttet sin praktik hos KøbenhavnerSnuden, stod uden arbejde, men med masser af tid og løb afsted med idéen. De første frivillige kom til, og 2nd PAW slog dørene op i KøbenhavnerSnudens lokaler – når de ikke selv brugte dem. 2nd PAW was born out of the dog school KøbenhavnerSnuden in Nørrebro. Here the owner, Regitze Acacie, saw how puppy owners in particular gave her used harnesses and other things, so she could pass them on to other dog owners. What if you put it into a system and made a shop? Lucif had just finished her internship at KøbenhavnerSnuden, was without a job but with plenty of time, and ran with the idea. The first volunteers joined, and 2nd PAW opened its doors in KøbenhavnerSnuden’s premises – whenever they weren’t using them themselves.
Det strømmer ind med kunder og brugte hundeting – så mange at der ikke er plads til det hele i de små kælderlokaler på Nørrebro. Heldigvis flytter KøbenhavnerSnuden i maj 2021 til større lokaler i Nordvest og 2nd PAW flytter med. Customers and used dog gear pour in – so much that there isn’t room for it all in the small basement premises in Nørrebro. Luckily, in May 2021 KøbenhavnerSnuden moves to larger premises in Nordvest, and 2nd PAW moves along.
Efter i to år at have fået gratis tag over hovedet hos KøbenhavnerSnuden er 2nd PAW vokset sig så stor, at vi kan flytte i vores egne lokaler. I maj 2022 flytter vi til Gunløgsgade 15 på Islands Brygge. After two years of a free roof over our heads at KøbenhavnerSnuden, 2nd PAW has grown so big that we can move into our own premises. In May 2022 we move to Gunløgsgade 15 in Islands Brygge.
Islands Brygge tager godt imod 2nd PAW, og efter et år har vi så mange varer og så god indkomst, at vi flytter til dobbelt så store lokaler. Heldigvis lige ved siden af den gamle butik, så adressen er stadig den samme – bare til th. i stedet for tv. Islands Brygge welcomes 2nd PAW warmly, and after a year we have so many goods and such good income that we move to premises twice the size. Luckily right next to the old shop, so the address is still the same – just to the right (th.) instead of the left (tv.).
